  Leo is one of San Francisco Bay Area’s premiere drummers.  His ability to play many styles of music has kept him busy on stage as well as in the studio.  His love for music shows through his aggressive, yet dynamic playing.  He can pound lightning-fast double bass rhythms or accent with subtle tones and sounds on the drum set.  His versatility keeps him busy whether it is Rock, Jazz, Metal, Latin, Funk, Reggae, Blues, Country, or Soul—he is proficient at all styles.  His diverse style has allowed him to share the stage with such acts as:  Eddie Money, Ronnie Montrose, Rick Derringer, Elvin Bishop, Foghat, Y&T, Night Ranger, Three Dog Night, B.J. Thomas, Boz Skaggs, Greg Kihn, The Untouchables, The Rippingtons, Poncho Sanchez, George Santana, Steve Miller, Greg Adams, The Crusaders, Craig Chaquico, Phil Perry, Eric Marienthal and many others.
 
            Leo is the first call to substitute for drummers and percussionist throughout the state.  Recently, relocating to Southern California, Leo is working his way into the Los Angeles/Orange County scene.  Since moving, he has played or recorded with the following artists: Ron Kobayashi, Tony Guerrero, Steve Oliver, Greg Vail, Justo Almario, Tom Scott, Dave Koz, Scott Martin, Frank Gambale, Henry “The Skipper” Franklin, Jim Belushi, Shelly Berg, John Heussenstamm, Steve Miller, Ron Eschete, Richard Smith, Alex Acuna, Raul Rekow, Pete Escovedo, Karl Perazzo, Kim Stone, Vale Johnson, Bobby Vega, Brad Gillis, Doug Lunn, Max Perkoff, Frankye Kelly, Roy Rogers, Theo Bishop, The Checkmates, John Handy and Rodrigo Lopez to name a few.
 
            Leo was recently touring and recording with world renowned Harpist/Violinist Carlos Reyes.  Aside from working on many projects, he has been in the studio recording and producing four of his own.  His Jazz Trio CD (titled “One, Two, Trio!”) is currently available on his website, as well as“Diversity”.  Like the name, the music ranges from Smooth Jazz, Latin Jazz, Funk and Rock.  His latest release is a collaboration with guitarist John Heussenstamm, and includes bassists, Baba Elefante and Gabe Rosales with a guest track from Ron Kobayashi.  The project is called “The Meeting” and the CD title is “Intervention”, which Leo wrote or co-wrote all the music.  Leo can be found conducting clinics in various schools and music stores throughout  northern and southern California.  Visit www.myspace.com/leovigil to sample his various styles.
